A summary of this book:

The promise to all believers that God would pour out his Spirit, that they would live with God's Holy Spirit upon them and be able to live in His power.

What did you like about the book?

The first thoughts were - be careful, this is prosperity preacher Benny Hinn. But I had to get rid of all the 2nd hand opinions of critics and just read for myself. Slowly as I read I started to see the vain of good encouragement. The basic points of what He points us to and encourages in are the basics that everyone should be encouraging and that everyone should be practicing.

What did you not like about this book?

Still, there is alot of 80's prosperity lingo and I would like to check how this book could look if written by someone outside of the 80's. But that's just to see how different it would come across without the "christianese" language.

Who would benefit most from reading this book?

Anyone interested in finding out if the powerful lives of our forefathers from the Old Testament and early church are lives that we should still be seeing today, in ourselves.

Do you recommend this book?

Yes, but there are some things you should know...

If someone reads this book, they should be aware of the following...

I picked this book up years ago, when I was a new believer and I only got through 1 or 2 chapters before I started to find myself confused. The Lord immediately told me to stop reading it. However, now about 8-10 years later, I found the peace to read it again and finish it. Finishing it is what was obviously important this time. Judging something without seeing where it goes is obviously going to leave you with a broken picture/message. I am obviously maturer now and could pick meat apart from bones. So if you going to read this book or this type of book, do 2 things.. be prayerful and talk to a leader if and when things become confusing.
