A summary of this book:

This book tells the life story of William Wilberforce, who almost single-handedly (although he had good men around him) put an end to the slave trade in the British Empire. Although I had read about Wilberforce's extraordinary life before, this book is exceptionally well-written and offers an in-depth portrayal of his character and personality. Few men have achieved as much as Wilberforce did in their lifetime. Despite facing incredible setbacks, disappointments, and resistance, he fought the good fight until victory was achieved, even while battling health issues.

What did you like about the book?

Incredibly well written and the author has gone to extreme lengths to reveal the character of the man, that only those closest to him would have known.

What did you not like about this book?

The authors command of the English language is so good, that at times you need a dictionary to understand some of the words used.

Who would benefit most from reading this book?

Anyone who is wanting to understand the price that men have paid to do the right thing.

If someone reads this book, they should be aware of the following...

Don't read it if English isn't your first language. It can sometimes be difficult to follow.
